Spectra is a new, but retro-looking video slot from Thunderkick. The game features a standard 5-reel and 30-line structure, and its non-progressive jackpot is hardly worth writing about, seeing as it is worth just 20x your total bet. Other symbols can hand you decent wins in this simplistic style slot, though. Spectra has other perks, though, and it offers you very cheap wagers (for instance), with the lowest setting you back just 10p per spin. At the opposite end of the gambling spectrum, the Spectra slot will set you back £100 per spin. Spectra has a RTP (return to player) rate of 96.40%, making it a medium variance slot machine game.
With Spectra, you will find all of your classic slot imagery on its reels, not least bars, sevens, bells, and more. The “W” symbol is one of the most precious, though. It doesn’t exactly fit the bill as a classic slot icon, but this wild symbol can replace all others in the game without exception. The main reason for that is that there are no scatters and bonus icons present in this slot.
The only bonus feature in this slot is a re-spins bonus. It takes the place of free spins, although personally, we’d have preferred to see the latter included in the game. The wild re-spin feature occurs whenever a wild shows up on the reels. The stacked wild will shift one move towards the centre row, and when it does players will get a free spin. The wild will remain frozen in place. When the wilds have reached the central row the bonus ends. It isn’t much of a bonus, but it is what this slot machine game has to offer.
Spectra certainly gets an A-plus for effort in terms of design. Thunderkick were aiming for a 70s looking slot and they have certainly nailed that. In terms of features, Spectra is a little light. The cheap wagers go a long way to making this slot enjoyable, but a full-on free spins bonus would have been better than the re-spin bonus offered in this game.
