The Fisticuffs reels display theme-related symbols in order of value from high to low: a boxing championship belt, a trophy, boxing gloves, a bell, a stool, a boot and a spit bucket with towel. There are also regular Wild symbols which substitute all other symbols, plus two other Wilds called the Diagonal Wild and the Straight Wild. The Diagonal Wild is represented by the fat boxer and appears on the second and fourth reels only, while the Straight Wild is the skinny boxer and appears on the third reel only. Both of these wilds substitute all symbols.
When the Diagonal Wild and the Straight Wild symbols appear next to one another either diagonally or horizontally on the reels, the main feature of the game – the Boxing Feature – is activated. If one or two Diagonal Wilds appear on the same row as a Straight Wild, the Straight Wild – quite hilariously – punches Diagonal Wild onto the first reel and/or the fifth reel, transforming all of the in-between symbols into additional Wilds.
Likewise, if one or two Straight Wilds appear diagonally to Diagonal Wilds, Diagonal Wild punches Straight Wild and transforms the symbols above or below Diagonal Wild into additional wilds.
During the Boxing Feature, the wild symbol can appear on reel 1 and remain there for an awarded respin. There are also Stacked Wilds than can randomly appear on the first and fifth reels during a respin.
Yet another NetEntertainment hit; Fisticuffs is a really playable game with some great features and amusing theme-related clips. The game centres around the variety of wilds and luckily these appear often, keeping players engaged and really boosting those wins. Gameplay is simple yet effective and I particularly enjoyed the light-hearted, eccentric theme and the punches that take place between the boxing characters representing the Diagonal and Straight wilds. This is a slot game that I will certainly come back to.
